A great cover design for The Big Sleep, by Steve Panton, recently awarded 2nd place in the Penguin Design Awards, designed to replicate the aesthetics of a vintage matchbox, complete with a brilliant striker spine.
Steve also designed an alternative special ‘push sleeve’ edition of the cover, featuring a scorched box of burnt out matches, save for one, which represents the character Philip Marlowe.
